A post mentioning some old gun writers got me to thinking of one of my old favorites that got me interested in handgun hunting...

That was a good one, he is by far my favorite writer. My favorite article he did was probably the Bob Milek vs. Ross Seyfried handgun hunt, which each one described what a ''real'' hunting handgun was. Bob was all about the single shot ''short'' rifles and Ross was talking big bore revolvers it's a classic!

Bob Milek was the one that influenced me to get my first XP (221 Fireball for rock chucks), but for me it was the revolvers that stuck & so did Ross' writing. I really enjoyed Peter Capstick at thattime & Ross was the Capstick of handguns in my eyes. I was also heavily involved in IPSC at that time & the fact that Ross was winning world titles with near stock guns resonated with me because I always shot my CC guns.

I think Bob hunted with revolvers to, he just did some amazing things with the single shots! Ross was awesome with whatever he wanted to use, 1911, revolver, rifle or typewriter!!I've slowly been trying to get every article he wrote and I'm getting there but it would great if still wrote on a regular basis

I have lots of articles by Milek including his Shooting Time special editions of Hunting with Handguns! I still read them over and over, but I am sure some of his writing at the kitchen table during long winters in Wyoming. They are always interesting reads just the same. He and Steve Herrett are the reason I have my TC's and JD Jones is why I like wildcatting and big boomers. Elmer Keith, Sheeter, Larry Kelly, Paco, Hal Swiggett, Larry Weishun and others have all greatly influenced the art we enjoy today. If shooting books are a sign of wealth, I am one of the richest!!

My buddy Fowler (he doesn't post much)

made me a CD with a bunch (24+) of Seyfried's articles on it. If I figured out how to copy it and make copies I would be happy to send interested members a copy.

Is there any interest? Would you cover my expenses? Not charging for the copyrighted content, only the disc, ($1) mailer, ($1) and postage ($3) Say $5 shipped?

If someone has the means to email these articles to me I can upload them to a site where everyone can just go and download them. I use a document uploader that works quite well.

OK fellas, here is what gives. Those of you that have sent me the money will get their own disc-- unless you let me know right away.

Those of you that still want their own copy, send the money and and I will send you a disc.

In the meantime I am sending Zac a copy and he can let us know when he posts the articles.
