Recent launch of new SIG 220 in 10mm AUTO woke up my appetite for this caliber which was almost clinically dead. As hunter and IPSC shooter (ex champion of Serbia & Montenegro 2000) I was always trying to “merry” my two passions - pistols & hunt. Aside of hunting already with my Desert Eagle I was considering to buy some good and ACCURATE 10mm AUTO. I was considering SIG 220, Kimber, Dan Wesson or Glock 20.
Sharing with me any experience with 10mm AUTO accuracy testing will be highly appreciated!

I shot them a decent bit.... a Kimber and G20.... They were hand-loads and I think some Underwood ammo.... shot really well.... I just went with 45 super because I also shoot alot of 45acp... So its just easier for me....

Igor,

Have several Glocks in 10mm, several S&W 610 revolvers, several Ruger Blackhawk 10mm/38-40 revolvers, and just picked up Kimber Target II. Have shot the caliber quite a bit and enjoy it. I prefer the revolvers, the autos tend to launch the brass into orbit. I have taken numerous gophers (ground squirrels), American antelope, and deer with them, usually 180 grain bullets. Nothing larger has been on the menu.

I'm very curious as well. I have been looking at the ads for the new Glock 40, six inch barrel & slide.

A local shop was showing a guy the Para Ordnance 6" 10mm Hunter model today. I didn't play with it but if a guy likes a 1911 platform...

I have a 10mm/.38-40 Blackhawk as well, mine is a "Buckeye", with a buckeye across the cylinder, I think it was akin to some of the special runs Ruger does for places like Davidsons or Lipseys. Is this the case with yours as well?

Dave,
Which you found more accurate - Kimber or Glock20?

It was really close but Id say the Kimber edged out the Glock.... but in truth not by much....

Also alot has to do with the sights.... On the glock they were just factory sights.... the kimber did have target sights.... Im sure you will be happy with both... It just comes down to personal preference....

...And budget of course.... A Glock will run about 500.00 the kimber closer to 750.00

Porkchop,

Yes, a special run for Buckeye Sports. They also made special runs in 32 H&R/32-20 WCF and 44 Mag/44-40 WCF for Buckeye. All with the roll marks.

Igor,

My G20 has a Lone Wolf 6" barrel with a brake, shoots "lights out," the Kimber is stock and shoots extremely well; however, the G20/LW has a slight edge.

Dave & Doc,
Many thanks for valuable data. Unfortunately pricing in Europe is quite different: 900$ for Glock20 and 1600-1800$ for Kimber

EAA Witness Humter 10mm is extremely accurate,15 rounds and the most confortable grip of any semi-auto I own. Collection includes Glock,KImber and EAA.

Note: EAA with Hornady 200 grain factory ammo is a one shot stop combo.

I had a standard Witness in 10mm for a while & really enjoyed it. Along with being a great shooter it also fit my hand as well as my favorite 1911s used to.

Hi 41
Hunter sounds like great deal! How many rounds you put through the barrel?
A decade ago I bought Tanfoglio Limited in 9mm PARA (beautiful gun, ergonomic, extraordinary trigger and sights,...) but slide cracked (2 fractures in zone of ejection port) after just 40-50 rounds (factory loads)! I also know another 4-5 guys who had the same problem with their Tanfoglios. Probably producer had a problem with metal-injection-molding and/or stainless steel at that time
Now you can understand my concern and reason why I am asking you...

I've heard of this from other folks as well. It has been what has kept me from giving them a try.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Glock G20 with a Lone wolf 6 inch barrel. Shooting 180 grain XTP over ten grains of Blue Dot. Very accurate and easy on the hand.
Great backup or short range weapon. Took my first whitetail at
40 yards. 50 yards is my max range on deer sized target. I have shot some 230 gr. Double Taps. They were accurate but noticeable increase in recoil. Love the gun.

Appro 4oo rounds of hornady 200 grain factory ammo. Have scope mount with red dot. Heavy weapon but is easy to shoot accurately. I have had no issues with the quality of the weapon.
As stated before, it is deadly on whitetails at archery ranges.

I am jealous of Doc having "several" 10mm revolvers. I would like ONE but they are a fortune as none are being made anymore. I have been looking at them but the prices make me cry. I have a G-20 but hate chasing brass.
