Does anyone know where I can find some AA 2230 powder? I use this in my 223 and am out. I can't find any online either and have never ordered powder online.

Just speaking from a business standpoint. I can't see the benefit to distributers stockpiling powder. Basic business 101 explains that a full wharhouse is lost revenue. A business needs to keep turning its money over to make a profit. Not just have it sitting in a building. Also they would have had to pay tax on every pound they had on the shelf at years end. On top of that every distributer would have to do the same thing. As if they all got together and agreed. I'm under the impression that your source is mislead or may be spinning the yarn.

Holding millions of dollars in powder to get an extra $5-8 a pound doesn't make sense and would cost the distributors more loses in inventory costs than the small gain in price. Like I said before. It would only take one distributer to not stockpile to ruin this secret plan. And whatever distributer did that would make much more from sales than waiting for prices to inflate. Powder prices haven't really changed in over a year. Do you think they are waiting for a big price jump to flood the market. The price would drop almost instantly. I think your LGS or whoever they spoke to got creative or assumes everything is a conspiracy.

I work with distributors. Not powder. But the principles of business are the same for businesses. Find me a business that can sit on product that they could sell all they could get their hands on for a nice profit but doesn't to earn and extra 20% at some future date. And I'll show you a unsuccessful business.

I'm not trying to start a fight. A real business not a guy selling bricks of ammo at gun shows will sell a pound of powder at 100% profit and turn around and order another 2 pounds of powder and sell them and so on. In this same time you are telling me that the distributors are holding all this powder in a warehouse to drive up prices from $22 to $28-30. Ok you taught me how sales, distribution and marketing really work in today's environment. Thanks

l picked up 3 lbs of Power Pistol in Augusta last week. First Alliant powder l have seen on the shelf in almost 2 years.. Tey also had Bullseye... Still no '2400' :--(

Distributors are selling their powder and other hard to get stuff to the stores that order and pay the most. So little ma and pa shop will never get any. And most goes out the back door at all shops. If you want certain powders. Learn to deal out the back door. Most people are honest but a buck is a buck.
