Okay, that's not the exact one, but I forgot my phone and couldn't get a picture of it. Anyway, yeah, they've got a Bone Collector Performance Center Model 460 XVR with a 10" barrel. Number 318 of 1500. They're asking $1500 for it. I need to buy a couple of lottery tickets.

From a purely aesthetic point of view, I have trouble wrapping my head around that.

My first hunting handgun was the 460 S&W from the Performance Shop. Had the really long barrel, no brake, and no two tone. I thought it would be my "only hunting revolver I'll ever need since I could shoot 45 Colt and 454 out of it as well."

Yeah, we all know how that went.....

Same here. It's not a bad thought, until you try to shoot accurately with the shorter rounds. If only Smith and Wesson offered a 45 Colt cylinder for it. . . .

You know, I told my grandfather about that gun. He's a firearm aficionado with a love for rarer guns, and he said he wanted to go take a look at it. I kind of hope he buys it.

I handled one of these at the S&W booth at Harrisburg Outdoor show. The high polish (mirror) cylinder and side slabs is the worse finish you can have on a hunting gun. I would cover this up before I took it to the woods.

if the ported compensator was removed it would do a lot for the looks and the highly polished cylinder needs to be dulled down.
but a super redhawk still looks better

The 460 barks loud enough without the break, people at the range think my 12" is cool to look at....until I start shooting it,I don"t make any friends at the range.

I don't know, I think the polished stainless parts and gray frame contrast quite nicely. I think it would look beautiful with a silver scope and stainless rings.

This angle makes the barrel look shorter than it really is. And the side of the barrel where the chambering and number are located is the same color as the rest of the frame. This picture makes it seem like it's polished stainless, but it's not.

I went back today, and this time I brought my phone so I could get a picture of it.

I was wrong, it's a 7.5" barrel, just like the standard 460s.

not bad looking but I agree with rob-c, the compensator really uglies it up.

The biggest marketing scheme in the last few years is to write "The Bone Collector" on everything then charge extra money for it.

Or something green with zombies.

Is the whole zombie theme still a thing? I know the Bone Collector is.

You know, funny story the zombie craze. My sister actually wrote a high school English paper over the history of zombie legends and pop culture, and she referenced the zombie fad in the shooting industry. She made a 97, and only lost those points for one instance of a subject-verb disagreement.

I verbally disagree with some subjects all the time. Usually, they are liberals though.

l think that's one of the coolist revolvers on the market.. l just love S&W two tone revolvers. l have the 629 PC Magnum Hunter two tone and also a two toned 629 Comped Hunter.. l think the 7 1/2'' barrel is much more balanced than the 10 1/2'' on my 460PC...l just wish l could find a Bone Collector locally...NO revolvers in my area.. 0nly bottom feeding black guns. 0n the net most go north of $2000 for the Bone Collector:(

That would be so practical for africa. Red dot and scope just interchangeable at will with quick detach mounts. I like the way it looks

A hunting buddy from Penn. recently bought one of these handguns for an investment and no matter how hard I tried I could not get him to shoot the piece. I even gave him a new box of Hornady ammo.... You have to take the handgun for what it is and that`s to shoot five rounds of ammo that`s around 2 1/8" long. As Trademark said above that it would really shine in Africa.....
