I just acquired a TC Encore 308 pistol. I don't currently have a pistol scope, but do have a spare rifle scope that I mounted. It seems like it may work. Its easier to find the field of view although it is smaller. I'm just curious if anyone else hunts with a rifle scope on their pistol? Hopefully get to shoot this evening to test it.

I tried a rifle scope on my 243 Encore. With my 58 grain handloads, it would probably be fine. With a 100 grain load, the scope hit my glasses, and I wasn't even holding it closely enough for the view to fill the reticle. I can only imagine you would end up with a cut eyebrow with a rifle scope on a 308 Encore.

I sneaked up on my T/C Encore .308 many years ago. It sports a Burris IER 2-7x. I have a scar on my upper lip to prove that I shouldn't have crept up on it. I now stay far enough back yet close enough to get a full field of view.

Well I just got back from shooting it and had no problems. I keep the scope on 3x and get enough field of view about 10" away. I like it much better than the pistol scopes I've used in the past, most have eye relief that is too far for me and my shooting style. I never really thought about using a rifle scope before. I don't see myself taking a shot at an animal past 150 yds. I was consistly banging a 6" steel plate at 100yds. I promise to post some pics if I get the half moon kiss to the face! Lol

Brake that beast and you will enjoy it even more.
Rod, too.

Its not bad at all,my 44sbh is much more recoil. I just don't know how my repeatable accuracy will suffer about 10" from the scope, and not having a full view.

I shot a 6-284 XP for a number of years with out a brake, while using high magnification. That barrel has a brake on it now, after someone else got smacked. The real key is for you to remember to not try to get a full FOV...which is a natural thing to do
