Anyone use these loads for rabbits , squirrels etc?
Ive read where buck shot was used as a bullet with very little powder.
Also wad cutters

I though , heck I have 38/357 dies.
Find a decent used revolver with a 4,5, or 6 inch barrel.

I would do something like that, but my state prohibits the use of centerfire rounds on those types of game.

.38 Special 148 grain wadcutters are good squirrel bullets without excessive meat damage.

I use 158 SWC out of a 10 inch contender is post ya a pic but I'm not rightly sure how to do it from my phone. But its just a 38 call hole straight through very little damage even when hitting the spine or other bone.

As you can see not mutilated at all

I use both wadcutters and SWC's in my Ruger LCRx. I shot this rabbit at 25 steps with a 148 gr wadcutter. As said, great for squirrels as well.

25 paces with a snubby.....good shootin'

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Hello there!...I do use .38 special or down loaded .357 mag. for small game and varmints....Years ago, out of Ruger Blawkhawk or GP100.....now I only shoot them out of a 10" TC....love it!....I had a lot of different handloads from years back in the .357, that were for a S&W 19 and the Rugers, they shot well....now I am shooting these wadcutters and SWC's in the TC....they don't shoot as well in the TC, I didn't load them for the TC, so I didn't expect much.. I just want to free up the brass..so why not use them if you can?....But they are accurate to 30 or so yards....and a hell of a lot quieter in the TC!...(chronied at 650-750 fps)..BE VERY CAREFUL OF THEM RICOCHETING BACK AT YOU!!!!!!......I have shot squirrels laying flat on the trunks of oak trees and the bullet would pass through them and come back at you!......ESPECIALLY IF YOU MISS!!!!....hey, who misses though?...Not me of course! (just joking!)......Have fun !......It is addicting

Thanks. I love the sights on the 3" LCRx. This gun just fits my hands perfectly. I keep waiting for Ruger to offer it in a few more calibers.
