I wanted try it in my Encore. Choose the Encore because it is would be easier to clean than the revolvers.

I loaded a GC WFN cast from #2 alloy weight of 332 grains. I used Swiss FFG weighed charge of 40.3 grains by weight which was slightly compressed. I used a Mag Large Pistol primer. The barrel length on my Encore barrel is 10.0" OAL.

The chronographs was set @ 5 yards from the muzzle.

5 shots at 40 yards just under 2". This was more the shooter than the load I was in hurry as I had some other commitments.

Velocity for 5 shots was:

927
924
928
927
925

It was really kind fun with blast of smoke and I am really liking what I see with this. So further testing is on order. The recoil was like shooting a 44 special.

I use Ballistol with a copper pot scrubber on a nylon brush to clean the barrel interior, the gun cleaned up easy and quickly.

Glad I tried it if it shoots out to 75 yards with accuracy and I can get to 1000 FPS by compressing the charge some I will definitely use this for deer hunting this fall it was just allot of fun.

No real advantage to it just tinkering and black powder smoke is just plain fun. I will get this load to shoot at 1000 FPS then use this to take deer this fall. Again no real advantage other than just playing around.

I see no problems just be sure your loads are compressed. Air gaps and BP are a bad thing. To lighten the loads you can use a filler such as corm meal.

Absolutely compressed is even better having many BIG BORE ML I certainly understand what are gaps will do. Even thinking along then
Ines of duplex loads from the old Lyman manual.
