As most of you already know by now, Ruger is coming out with the 480 and 454 in the Super Blackhawk. If you had to choose between Super Redhawk or Super Blackhawk in these calibers for a hunting gun, which one would it be?
Is there any advantage with a DA revolver vs a SA revolver?

I prefer the grip, size, and balance of the Super Blackhawk Bisley. If it was a standard framed Super Blackhawk..............no thanks. I'd choose SRH then.

no contest for me, Ruger Bisley all day long. I never have warmed up to the look and feel of a Super Redhawk just to bulky

I'd like it kinda like this: But with a full shroud. And in 50 cal....
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Super Blackhawk or nothing for me.

As long as it has the Bisley handle
Rod, too.

SBH for me. Bisley grips beat my hand up. I had a .45 Colt Blackhawk years ago that was miserable for me to shoot. I have a BFR in .454 Casull which at that time had the same grip frame as a SBH (my SBH grip panels fit it perfectly). It handles .454 Casull recoil fine.

I like both configurations (SRH and SBH/Bisley). For a pure hunting gun, I would take the SBH/Bisley but that is more of a personal preference thing than a performance one.
If the gun was also going to pull duty as a personal protection sidearm when in the woods, the double action of the SRH would get my vote.

I have always preferred single actions for their sleekness and looks. I'll take a SBH.

I'll take the SBH Bisley. In my experience I can get a better trigger on the single action, and I agree with Greg, "sleekness and looks". Its like looking at a woman who has just the right curves and lines.
