Great mounts! Who did your taxidermy?

Very nice!

The taxidermy was done in South Africa by Glen Boyd taxidermy. On site at my outfitter. Kubusi safaris. The shipment came via South African Airways. The details and coloration of the mounts are excellent. I have seen a lot of Kudu horns painted shiny black. Mine are a beautiful natural brown. The Warthog looks like he could jump off the wall!

The 2 animals I dreamed of the most were the Kudu and Impala. My Kudu stalk and shot was truly an awesome priceless experience. That being said, I agree that hunting Warthog is very exciting. About 1/2 of my time afield was spent in pursuit of the 2 Warthogs. Both were initially spotted then lost in the bush before reappearing within 50 yards calling for a quick shot. Very much like my Eastern woods hunting for Whitetail. If I get to return. I will definitely have Warthog high on my trophy list.

Impressive trophies Bill!

Thanks for sharing the experiences via the articles, and your keepsakes.

And I love chasing hogs, whether on American soil or abroad - my PH had to redirect me MANY times...

I finally got around to having my animals scored for SCI. The Blesbok and Warthog both made the book. Coincidentally, each one's score currently ranks 31st in the handgun category.

Size wise this Warthog is huge. Both my PH and tracker were extremely excited when we first spotted the hog. The tracker said more about that than he spoke all week! Themba (my PH). Called it a hog and a half. He was pretty cool and somber all week but he talked, smiled and giggled for an hour once the pig was down. He sent texts of him with the pig to his friends and the other PHs. He called it the greatest trophy of our safari!
