Anticipation of my new Lipsey 480 coming, I got to craving some big bore shooting. I dressed my 4" 500 up in it's "best little dress" and loaded some shells.

I have not seen a 500 made up like this...but I had the scope. mount, and grips, so I decided to play around a little. It may look a little odd, but it shoots real nice configured like this.

First up was some 350 Berry's. These were fun to shoot. Nice and easy but still quite effective at 1218fps.

Thought I'd try some fast-movers so I packed a case full of powder behind the 300gr FXT's,,,HOLY crap theses things kicked!!!! The little FXT racers hit 1920fps in 3 inches!!. I canceled my subscription to that madness in just 3 shots. LOL Not fun with wood grips.

Think I'll stick to the slow(er) rounds from now on....Maybe get some CEB Raptors for her and lighten the load..lol

That looks MEAN. Did ya get any blow from the ports on the lens of the UD?

It sure looked like it's ported.

The ported comp looks like this...it does a great job of making the 500 even LOUDER...and it can throw lots of nice crude into your face...you have to carry a pocket knife and mirror to dig the scraps out of your face from to time
\:\(

They come with 2 factory comps and the one pictured here seals the 6 top holes along the sight to help with the scope damage...they are marketed as one for jacketed and one for cast.

I had a machinist make me a solid one up. Much nicer without the hot pillow to the face.

She must be a handful when stoked up. More fun than I can stand these days ;-)

Looks mean; I like it!

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.
