What's your thoughts on using lil gun powder in 357 mag? It looks like you get lower pressure than h110. But I also read of people having problems with it. Thanks.

I've used it in mine when H110 was unavailable, works just fine.

It burns just fine however you do run the risk of erosion in the forcing cone and cylinder face.

Freedom Arms warns against using it and I have now personally seen 2 Rugers that are showing signs of erosion from LilGun.
I have a brand new sealed pound I never opened after reading up on the issues with it in magnums.

If you need just a little more than H110 gives (which is pretty close to the max a magnum can perform at) then give Vihtavuori N110 a try. Supposedly it can squeeze just a tad bit out of a magnum load.

Thanks guys, I will probably stick with h110.I was just wondering if it was worth trying.

If you've got a good supply of H110, there is really no need to be looking at another, unless you want to load down that is.

l got some Lil Gun for my 221 Fireball during the ''Great Powder'' shortage a few years back...When 2400/H110 vanished l started using Lil Gun in my S&W Model 27 357Mag.. lt shot great but the gun was BOILING hot. Then l read about overheating w/Lil Gun and stopped using it in my Smiths
