Just wondering if anyone is a fan of pistol hunting and muzzleloader hunting. I'm hunting with a CVA Muzzleloader pistol... recoil is comparable to a 44mag... maybe just a little heavier... and that's with 100 grains of Blackhorn 209. Anyone here hunt with this ML pistol?

There's been some banter about it on this thread in the Shooters Bench recently.

I have one. I use 2 IMR White Hot pellets. Shoots excellent Killed a few groundhogs with it. No deer yet. Used 395 gr. bullets.

I have taken two deer both mature deer one buck one mature doe. 25 yards fast dash and lights out. Both Deer were shot with Powerbelt bullets.

I have a CVA muzzleloader pistol but only started hunting with it yesterday. No shots yet.
I shoot 90 grains of Jim Shockey's Gold and a saboted 240 gr XTP.
This gun will shoot. I love it!

I will be hunting the PA early muzzleloader season this Saturday with my CVA optima II pistol. I bagged a nice doe with it last year. My first day of big game hunting this season. I can hardly wait!

I just ordered and received a real nice .510-.512 mold for the CVA and my six shooter 50 caliber ML it comes in at 250 grains I will do some shooting and report back next week on that bullet does from the CVA. With 80 grains of FFG I would guess my velocity is going to be close,to 1500 FPS.
