Has anyone experianced an extractor so loose that the cartridge rim slips past it when chambering a round???
The extractor on my 375 JDJ barrel has way too much slop in it.Is this common?

Hey dirtydawg, yes that is a problem with my factory barrel in 44mag. I think it is a factory problem of mass production. I have an SSK barrel in 303 British that has never slipped a cartridge because the extractor is tight. I also have a factory Encore in 300WM and the extractor is loose enough to slip the belt beyond it and I have to watch that it catches on the rim of the cartridge. I don't know of a fix, but I'm not a barrel guy. Surely, if it is a concern, it can be tightened by the likes of SSK or one of the other barrel makers.

Send it back to T/C...if it is a factory barrel. I've had a LOT of barrels and the problem you describe in never anything I have experienced.
