The one I have is a Bushnell Bowhunter Chuck Adams Edition.

I have a Leopold RX-800i TBR with DNA Engine, a 800 yard model that will range off fuzzy or irregular surfaces to ~300 or 400 yards depending on a lot of factors. Works great for deer hunting in Minnesota, but I wish I had gotten something with more range for P-dogs and such or situations where you are ranging to a surface that is at a flat angle to you (think mound of dirt).

I have an older Bushnell that I bought for bowhunting. Seems to do ok for things out to about 150 yards or so. Beyond that if it is fuzzy and/or non reflective, things get a little more dicey.

When I eventually upgrade, it will be one that is good to at least 800 yards. That should give at least stable readings to 350-400.

I would go 1000 yards capacity for reliable readings at 400 based on experience with the leopold.

Ok i have a bushnell arc and it has the big circle reticle( mainly for bow hunting) but when I wanna play at long distances it is a pain to get an accurate reading. I usually have to range my parked truck, I just didn't know what the guys that shoot p dogs at 1000 yards use

If you're young enough don't waste your money buying a rangefinder AND a binocular. Get the Bushnell Fusion-two in one, reasonable priced when you combine cost of bino and ranger. I've had mine since they came out. Never regretted it.

I got the Redfield. Good for about 500-600 yds. Has been great and wasn't very expensive. It is accurate too.

If you do not plan to shoot over 500 yards go to NSS and buy what is on sale.
Past 500 you need a better unit I like Leupold and Leica

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

Vectronix Terrapin
G7-BR2

Terrapin will work better/further in all conditions than the G7, Swaro or Leica 1600

Leica Geovid binocular with range finder great piece of equipment.
Also like the Swarovski version of the same. Both amazing in the field but the Swarovski won't go less than 30 yards if you also bow hunt that can be an issue.

For really long range or tough weather nothing beats my vectronix plr10
In rain or fog etc it gets very accurate readings where others don't pick up anything.

junebug--Swarovski AINT cheap.. l wish they were... l got familiar with them back I the 90s when l worked for Kenny Jarrett... He was kinda like a trouble shooter for Swarovski on some of the scopes customers would return complaining of inaccurate or bad adjustments...The standard drill was to mount the problem scope on the test rifle and then shoot a 3 inch box with it at 100yards...You know the drill. lnitial center..12 clicks right Fire. 12 clicks down Fire. 12 clicks left Fire.
That usually decided if the scope was good or bad...

btw.. The ''Accuracy Rifle'' was an old Savage 340 in 222 Rem
