Myself and a couple buddies went on a hunt this weekend. I was hunting for meat and they had some red deer hinds on the property so I took one of those and a couple hogs. The hog was about 100 lbs.

I know the hog is good, but I've never had red deer. I bet it's good though.

We hunted a little south of Bandera Texas. Both were shot from about 80 yards. The hind was prob. 200lbs while the pigs were about 100 and 60 respectively, also shot from about 80 yards each. I was using my FA 454 with Nosler 260 Partitions. The hind ran about 75 yards, one pig ran about the same distance and the other dropped. My buddies shot a couple of red deer stags but they used their rifles on this trip because they haven't had time to practice enough to feel comfortable with their handguns.

Best way to fill a freezer, Gary! I wish I had some elk or red stag in the freezer. Great eating!
