Ken O`Neil mentioned gun writer Terry Murbach in another post and I wanted to give him credit for S&W`s introduction of their
3" heavy lug barreled J-frame. The gun is now made in 357 but when I bought it the chamber was made for 38 special +P. Terry had taken a older fixed sight 3" j-frame in 38 and installed a adjustable rear and called it his "Trail Masterpiece". My stainless gun is amazingly accurate at 25 yards with Remington`s 158gr LSWC-HP+P ammo and has been used to finish off a few whitetail using Norma`s 158gr FMJ-SWC bullet...When ridding in a belt holster you don`t even know its there and the stainless steel makes it almost indestructible thus living up to its name of "Trail Masterpiece"... Thank you for a fine handgun Terry Murbach....
PS- this information is for all the members that are old enough to know and all the other members who are to young to remember who Terry Murbach is....

That's one of the better ideas......

It's not the gun, but the man behind it.

I have the same gun, I love it! It is my favorite trail/fishing companion. Being stainless is great when I go in over my waders.

I am looking for one of these! In these times, it would seem that I can load 38 / 357 just a little more than 22 lr. I like the bigger payload as well. I am of an age that Terry Murbach means a bit to me. MK

Well, the bad news is that my brother Murbach is younger than I am.
