Anyone here carry a 6" barreled revolver in a chest holster? How well does it work for you with the longer barrel? I'm of average build and looking for a comfortable way to carry 6" 586 (unscoped). Don't want a belt holster and the shoulder holster I have..........well I just don't want to use it. Have looked at Diamond-D, have a Simply Rugged for 4" gun. There's some real good ones out there and some not so good. Suggestions, pictures?

I don't have any info, but I was looking at other options to carry a similar sized gun. I think I'll be going with a Bandito shoulder rig.

7x leather seems to be popular.

7x makes a great holster for field use! The proprietor is also a member here.

TM,

I have DD holsters for both my FA 4 3/4 M83 and for my Colt New Frontier with 7 1/2 inch barrel. The harness works well for either length barrel. I always get the flap with the holster bodies, as the flap can be easily removed if not needed. I use the single harness for either holster. No complaints, at all.

My simply rugged with Chesty Puller for my Alaskan also works for my 9 1/2" srh and my 3 3/4" sbh. My have to try 7X for my Henery Big Boy 44 mares leg when it get here.

I have a similar setup for my 5 1/2" Redhawk and it works just fine for my 7 1/2" SRH. No problems whatsoever. The muzzle and front sight is exposed but I don't see that as a real issue.

Whitworth. What can you tell me about the blackhawk in the top photo?
Looks like what I am looking for. is it a 44 mag or a 45 colt. Looks like 44 but can't really tell.
How long is that barrel? 4.6"

The barrel length is 3 3/4-inch. I think it was a Lipsey's exclusive. It's on the Ruger website. Yeah it's a .44 Mag. Great little revolver!
