After bugging you guys the other day about your "Opinion of Weaver Scopes" (that was the name of my post) and me talking about the bushnell trophy, I went and bought a Burris 2-7x32. I think i got a good buy on it at $185 off of ebay. It is matte black with the target knobs. It is supposedly only been mounted for a few shots and is in excellent condition. I don't have any experience with the target knobs but i hope they are ok for hunting. Let me know what you think about the scope.

it is my opinion that the burris 2x7 is the best scope available for regular hunting chores. the 3x12 model would have an edge in bench shooting and small varmint hunting.

sounds like ya got a great buy

that should serve you just fine, better than the others if you got the money. you won't regret spending a little more for the best down the road. ebays full of good deals from time to time. now mount that thing and practice, practice, practice.

I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a handgun today.

Yep-- good scope. I always have a target elevation knob on mine as well-- in case i wanna go farther than the lower post zero of a ballistic reticle (including simple plex).

I've had a couple and both got trashed. One on my 375 JDJ and the other on my 309 JDJ. I sent them back and both were fixed but the one on the 375 JDJ got trashed again. After it was repaired again I sold that one and put the other Burris on my 223 Remington barrel. Both of those hard kicking barrels now wear a Simmons Gold Medal 2.5-7.
I'm not giving up on Burris just yet. I still want one of their 3-12 scopes.

JD HHI 6092,
Did you have the older model 2.5-7 or the newer style 2-7?

It was an older one with the Posi-Loc.

I also fried an older 2.5-7 Burris with my 338WM Encore handgun a # of years ago. It is my understanding tha the newer 2-7 is better. I sure like my 3-12's (I have 4 of them ).

I had same problem as JD with my 2-7X. Parallax has gotten knocked out of wack twice on hard kickers even with three lapped rings (think mine was an older version also). Now on my 6 TCU.
