Ok been looking at these single shot .410/45 pistols and I think I "need" one.

being a father of 4 young ones I don't have a lot of play $ so what do ya'll think about the rossi matched pair set?

it have the .410/45 colt barrel with the choke tube for shot shells and it comes with a 22 lr barrel.

I know rossi's fit and finish aint that great and their revolvers are crap but there single shots seem to be OK for what they are?

My main plan is the use the shotgun barrel for small game and maybe turkey and the 22 barrel is cool because I could run my trapline with it. Maybe shoot deer with the 45 (irons only)

Thoughts?

I have a T/C, 45/410 barrel, and it makes a great little shotgun but leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to shooting 45 Colt bullets. Best it could do was a bit over 3" @ 25 yards so I leave the choke in and use it for small game.

Yeah I figured the 45 cal wouldn't be the most accurate. I have a few spots where the max shot might be 35 yards so I figure it could work at the spots but not much else.

x2 on the accuracy. Helps that it has proper sights and not a vent-rib.
How strong is the action? Can you run full strength SAAMI spec 45 loads? I would assume that would be more then enough for ~35 yard deer but haven't investigated.

What about a Comanche 45LC/410 single-shot?

The issue lies in the long chamber for the 410 shotshell, not in who makes the gun. The shorter case of 45 Colt bullet gets no throat support for the inch and a half to the rifling. If you are going to keep your shots within 50 yards it may be good enough for you, but it wasn't up to my standards for a centerfire pistol cartridge that may need to be stretched to 100 or more.

got ya! so really a guy should consider a .410/45 colt combo a .410 with a novelty 45 colt. that's ok with me because I really just want the .410

I have the Encore .45/.410 in a 10 inch barrel. I love it for squirrels and rabbits. It may not be the cheapest to start, but once you have the grip, forend, and frame. You can buy a multitude of barrels for different uses, and additional barrels can be found used for less than $200.
