Its been a banner year for our handgun hunters and their posted trophies. Just like to add my contribution. I was using my Freedom 500 loaded with a 325gr A-frame and 30.0grs of LilGun. Shot was a little over 50 yards and as the picture shows the bullet came in high in the right shoulder, clipped the spine and stopped under the off side hide. Knocked him right over and then slipped a couple of .22`s into the ear base to stop the show...The recovered bullet weighed 307.5 grains for a loss of 17.5 grains with a max expansion of 0.717" from the bonded bullet.

Great job, as usual, James! I agree, this has been quite the productive season for members of this site.

Well done, James! How'd you like the new grips?

Good on ya, James. I gotta get me a 50 something.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Nice hog! It has been a great year and I still have a Christmas trip to the YO to see how the new owners are going to carry on the tradition.

Dave, I hunted the YO a number of years ago and had a great time and took some good critters. Then I heard it went to hell. Please send me a PM after your Christmas trip to let me know how your hunt went. Thanks, James

You're going to turn into a pork chop James! I shot a couple meat does in eastern N.C. again this year, and used one of my .500 WE's on one of them. Like you, I really like that cartridge ....

NRA Dave, I didn't realize that the Schreiners had sold the YO. I've also hunted there a couple times, but the last visit was 11 years ago, and the same high quality still prevailed then.
Best wishes for your upcoming hunt.

Nice work with the 500 James!

Gotta get some of the A-Frames to run in the WE.
