I am wondering if anyone has used HS6 in the 480 Ruger? I have been looking, and it seems that there is a distinct lack of data available. I am loading 410 grain cast bullets, and I do have other powders on hand for which I have a fair amount data.

Try 14.5 grains I know of several people that used this amount for 340 -440 grain cast bullets some of them were PCed.
You should get about 1000 FPS or a little more.
It's a good powder choice.

Thank you very much. As I have about 6# of HS6 left, I think it will get a lot of use.

HS6 is pretty much all I use. Very consistent and efficient.

Do a search over at Single Actions and see if you can find Hoovers post. He did a test of a bunch of different powders and different charges of HS6 with different bullets in his Ruger 480

Thanks Glenn, I signed in over there and checked out the 480 thread, a gold mine of information.
