Went shooting with my brother today who I have not shot with for years. He had a new Anderson AR he needed to dial in, and I decided to take my CVA Scout in .243, and let him fire a specialty pistol for the first time.
Long story short, his first three scoped pistol shots he drilled a 1.5" group at 100 yards. First attempt at long range hand gunning, first scoped pistol shots, and shot better than he did with a benched AR. Nothing fancy in the steup either- bipod front, denim bag full of rice on the rear.
I am continually impressed with that CVA. It is just a hell of a shooter.

Kudos on introducing him. Think he might be interested?

Kudos on introducing him. Think he might be interested? 1.5" at 100 yards with a pistol will get ANYONE interested!!

Kudos on introducing him. Think he might be interested? Maybe. I could tell he was thinking how easy it would be to go hunting with a compact package like that. Especially with the central TX style hunting- from a blind, over a feeder.

I have been thinking about getting a CVA Scout pistol in 243 also. Have you had any luck hunting with it. I would want it for 100 to 200 yard shots on whitetails.

I have not stretched it beyond 100 yards, but plan to do so soon. I have shot one deer with it at pretty short range. 67 yards or so
