I am thinking of fitting my 4-5/8" Blackhawk with a red dot.
.45 Colt with max. load of 250gr @ ~1,230fps.
To keep the profile low, I am contemplating mounting an Ultradot L/T onto a Weigand Mini Scope Mount.

I've been using one for a number of years on a number of applications and so far so good. However, I haven't really turned the screws to mine yet, so YMMV.

I put one on my S&W 22A1 not much recoil here but, works perfectly ever time I've shot the gun.

Was saving it for my .454 Toklat but, decided to not scope that one.
Good scopes very dependable.

I had an Ultradot LT mounted on a .45 Blackhawk with a Weaver mount that held up perfectly for two years. I have since switched to an Ultradot 30mm dot sight on the Blackhawk, but not because the LT couldn't take it. My .45 Colt handloads with 250 gr. XTPs and 300 grain cast bullets are plenty hot, and the LT held up fine.
