I am in the market for a revolver, I currently have a SRH 44 mag and a XVR 460 but I'm thinking of going with a single action so probably a ruger being that I don't have the funds for a freedom, I'm going to start casting my own bullets as I've been hoarding wheel weights here for the past few years. I like bigger calibers than what I need (I think over kill is under rated) for the 150 lb deer around here. So what caliber do y'all recommend? I know I'm limited to calibers for the ruger but keep in mind if money wasn't an issue I would be looking at a 500 Wyoming. Thanks

Same revolver in 480R
With the 460, you essentially have a 454 if you want. The 480 is closer to 500 Wyoming (caliber wise).

Eastex This past winter I picked up this BFR 7.5 inch 454 Casull and love it! As I too wanted something beefy in a single action. They have a custom shop with offerings in 475 & 500 caliber. I believe all of this is listed on their website. My 454 with a 4x Leupold. Good luck in your search B..

X3 on the new 480 Ruger Bisley.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Thanks for the replies, I like the idea of the 480 because I use to have a 454 in a super redhawk.

No worries.
FYI, you will need to drill a hole through the sight blade to instal on your gun. Not hard to do with a drill, a vice, and a steady hand if you don't have a vertical milling machine.

The locar G.S. has two BFR's. One 45-70 and a 30-30 with 9 1/2 in barrels? You want different there you go. $900 price range.
