When I purchased my Super Blackhawk Hunter last year I did so knowing I wanted to learn to reload. 44 is just too versatile to only shoot factory stuff and I wanted to be able to load what I want when I need it.

Well ... My first loads went down range on Saturday. 9gr of Unique under a 240XTP for a grand total of 1000fps of really, really accurate light loads. I now know what all the fuss is about!! I'm hooked!

Sadly, the new Weaver 2.5-8 is headed back for repair/replacement.. After my first shot I noticed a wandering particle in the scope. Each shot moved it around on the reticle. The scope tracked and sighted like a champ, but that little wandering "cheese curl" wasn't something I felt I could live with. Weaver Service now goes through Kansas and I do have a direct number to them. I'd also add that you no longer need to add proof of purchase and $15 to a return. Fingers crossed ... I do like the scope and hope it gets taken care of promptly and correctly.

Good to hear they stand on their service. Keep us posted on their performance.

I have had to have one of their new scopes sent back. No questions asked and fast turnaround. Scope perfect ever since.

Thanks Zee.

Nice to hear Reflex264 ... Hope it gets back here soon.

I like to research and learn new things, thadf. I have a great deal of my Dad and Grandad in me ... They were watchmakers and jewelers, so sitting at a bench and concentrating on process kind of comes natural. I'm even using my Daddy's Jeweler's loop for case inspection.

I have been really surprised at how many folks shoot factory ammo on some of the forums. Especially this one. I would have thought almost all handgun hunters reloaded. I cast & load for both my 480 SRH and my brothers 44 SRH. Neither have fired a factory loaded round since factory test firing. I am glad to hear you are now a reloader.
I hope you get your scope back soon. I was shooting my new MGM Contender barrel this week when things got fuzzy through my old 2.5-7 Burris pistol scope. My first thought was that I was having a stroke. Then I decided I was seeing fine except through the scope. The end bell came apart. I sure hope they can fix my old scope.
With yours brand new would be good.
Good luck with the scope, and keep on loading.

Bob

Thanks, Bob R.

I slugged my barrel yesterday and will be ordering some lead soon. Want to try the powdercoated 240's from Bayou Bullets. .430 drops through the throats and the barrel measured .429. I'll order a small batch of .430 and work from there.

It seems Bushnell is doing Weaver Repair. I received a postcard today detailing that my scope arrived there. I was also given a Lab Repair # to check status. Sadly, the number flags as invalid in their system. Hope this turns out well ... I now have an invalid scope and an invalid number!!

The Lab Repair # worked today, so I knew the scope had been attended to. I called the direct number I had to Weaver and was told the scope will be replaced with a new one. Sadly, Weaver pistol scopes are on backorder so I'll be waiting a bit more. I noticed they are on backorder at Midway as well.

I am in about the same shape. I received notice from Burris that they had received my 2.5 - 7 for repair. The wait is on.

I sent a 2.5 x 7 to Burris for repair on 7/8/2016. On July 19th I received a new 2 x 7 replacement scope from Burris. Great service.

Received my replacement scope today and looking forward to sighting in this weekend. Weaver Customer Service was always pleasant to deal with and I do believe they got me a scope as soon as they could.

Can't wait to do some shooting!

Good to hear that they took care of you. Seems like it took a while, though.

It did take a while, but Weaver was up front with me on the timeline ... actually offered to refund in full if I thought process was taking too long. That alone is worth applause.
