After carrying my SRH .454 last winter I've decided to take the Burris FF3 off and go iron sights. Much of my pig hunting is spot-and-stalk, inside 60 yards and the iron sights just offer faster acquisition still with confidence.

Anyone else share this experience with a "walking gun"?

Oh, I've got a FF3 I'd be willing to part with too.

I have always carried my revolvers with iron sights. Scoped an Encore Pro Hunter in 460S&W, but that's it. I like the open sight picture.

Better post a picture, or it never happened.

I've got a 2x on my .460 Encore as well but that's more of a stand gun to begin with. Originally I wanted the red dot style sight to help with accuracy but my field time has shown me that I've become so used to iron sights over the last couple of decades and never have to worry about the iron sights being lit up or not.

Do you have factory iron sights or have you upgraded?
