Not very satisfied with the small electronic scale I bought. Electronic or Balance Beam ... Just looking for ease of use and accuracy. Any recommendations?

Thanks much.

I am old and set in my ways.
I recommend an RCBS 10-10 or 5-10 Beam Scale, or the same thing with another brand name. They work, and you will probably never need to replace it.
Normally I use mine to set my Uniflow or Dillon Powder Measures.

If one were a Serious Bench Rest Shooter, then weighing each and every Case, and Powder Charge might justify a very high end electronic scale.

I started with a Lyman / Ohas 10-10 scale in 1971, when the scale de-laminated a few years ago I replaced it with an RCBS 5-10. I have no plans to ever buy anything different.

I would skip any of the cheaper beam scales.

The RCBS 5-10 is my workhorse. I have the cheap RCBS electronic scale and found it drifted a lot.
If I were to get another electronic scale, I would do some research and try to find one that didn't drift.

One aspect to consider is that the accuracy (and drift) of is usually given as a percentage of full scale. If the scale goes to ~50 grams (and you calibrate at with 50 grams) and you are trying to measure ~30 grains they you are only using 3.8% of the full scale range and that +_ 1% accuracy is a very large fraction of your measured weight. This variation is one of the reasons you should always start below a published max load and work up. A scale is more useful for making sure your loads are repeatable.

As is mine. I have never had any trust in a digital scale. I use the scale to set up my Lyman 55's and drop from there, checking weight every so often on the scale. Certain propellants don't pour well, such as Varget for instance, so those I drop short in the pan and trickle up. I can usually find an easy pouring powder that performs well so tend to stick with those for "production" loading.

I do this with every load now, regardless of what type of powder I'm using. Yeah, it's a bit anal, but at least I know it's consistent.

I have used an RCBS scale and powder measure for 30+ years and see no reason to change .Too many things can affect an electronic scale for my liking, fans, floresent lights, breezes. When I have a powder that will throw consistant charges I weigh every 5 or 10th charge. With extruded or stick powder I throw light and trickle up every charge.

Both have their advantages... So l have BOTH..
RCBS 5-10 for weighing powder.. Digital scale
for sorting cast bullets and empty case by weight...
Sorting thru a couple hundred cast bullets or empty cases
would take FOREVER using my RCBS 5-10... Goes real quick
with a digital scale... l target shoot using mid-range
loads quite a bit...l weigh each loaded round to double
check for uncharged or double charged cases. lts quick and
easy using a digital scale

I can agree with that as far as hunting ammo, but when I gotta whip out a few hundred rounds for a family shoot I ain't gonna trickle up every charge ;-)

He speaks the truth. Run two...it'll change your life, twice.

If I could have back all the time weighing charges on a beam scale...oh my.
