As nice as a bear or zebra rug would look on your wall you also have another choice in having one of your handgunned boar`s hide made into a rug. I would suggest one taken during the winter months for the fullness and to take your time while skinning....The bottom photo is of the winter boar used to make the rug. As you can see he is not a large boar and just about the perfect size for a rug. In this case bigger is not better..

That's interesting. Never thought a boar would make a decent rug, but that one looks pretty good.

I like it! Just because it is a rug doesn't mean it has to go on the floor. I've seen rugs on walls, and they looked pretty good. I think you've given me a new reason to chase a pig!!

Yeah, I've got a bear rug hanging on my wall. I think it looks pretty good, I just wish it didn't take up as much room as it does.

They don't get that good looking in the agg fields I hunt. Mostly black to red to a mixture of the same. Occasionally a blond or a black & white to grey tone.

Not something that makes an exceptional rug. Besides..........they are covered in ticks, fleas, and mites!!!!! The boars usually have scars, sores, and infections over their bodies as well.

Basically, they ain't a pretty lot.

Those south western pigs sure can be ugly but you should see a warm weather Pennsylvania whitetail for ticks....

Yeah, sparse/patchy black don't make for an attractive rug. I think I'm screwed in my area for candidates. Ha!!

I just cut the snouts off and boil them if they have good tusks.









It's cheap, easy, and they take up little space on the book shelf.

Taxidermist in Africa did a similar mount for warthog...Great teeth......
