Our friend Mark Hampton has been busy making more memories lately. I'll let him fill us in on the details of his successful Shiras moose hunt!

Congratulations Mark!

Thanks for posting Darrell! I took this Shiras moose in Utah with Freedom Arms single-shot in 338 Fed. Factory Federal ammo with Nosler's 180 gr. AB -- one shot from 50 yards. Special thanks to Chris Rhodes of Bayside Custom Gunworks and Cody Weiser. Chris installed the muzzle brake and it helped considerably. I used Cody's bags for a rest and his new ammo wrist band is great. Both of these men provide useful products for us handgun hunters.

Well done. That 338 Federal sure appears to be a great round.

Congratulations on a nice moose!

Out of curiosity, where did you hit him and how much penetration did you get with the 180 grain AB?

That's good penetration with a 180 grainier in my humble opinion.

Thanks for the reply
