So i just got a new rock island armory 10mm. Does anyone have experience with hunting deer and hogs with one? .If so what would you recommend for a good load for both?

Post up some pics of the new iron ... I'd like to view it!

My G20 is the gun I started handgun hunting with. I've taken 2 bucks over the last 3 years using off-the-shelf Hornady 180 XTP. I've begun reloading and want to take a hog with it this year with my own hardcast loads.

You need a hosting site like photobucket.

That is a slick looking piece. I'm testing a Colt Delta Elite right now and would love to know how yours stacks up. I've only shot a couple of hogs with a 10mm and it was a Glock 20. I used Federal 180 grain loads and they worked well enough on the smallish hogs I shot.

As Whitworth stated, you need a hosting site. That being said, once you upload to this site on the bragging board, it becomes a hosting site. I use this bragging board to post pics on other websites forums.

I can normally post on the bragging board but still can not put it on a post without using a link. What am I doing wrong?

here you go. This was done by uploading your image to photobucket. Once uploaded you simply copy the address and paste it here.

This was posted by right click on the image in bragging board and then left click on "Copy Image Address". Then simply paste it here in the "enter a image" tab directly above your post.

Nice looking handgun. I've been finding myself researching the Tanfoglio Match Elite here lately.

fter carrying and killing one hog with my Glock 29 10mm I decided to go with the new G40 10mm optic ready Glock.
It is very accurate and mild to shoot with my 180gr XTP reloads.

I have only one hog give me a nice shot and I neglectic to see the branch sticking up from a dead tree and put a perfect hole in it. The branch not the hog.
Deer season starts soon and I will try for a deer also.

Did you understand my instructions for the posting? I just used that deer of mine to demo the bragging board posting. If not let me know and I will walk you through step by step.

I tried what you said but I can not find anything that says copy image address when I right click on my photo on the bragging board. I can copy the link and then everyone has to click on it to see the photo but I can not get the photo to show up. I can put photos on the bragging board but not on post.

Redhawk,

once you open your pic up on the bragging board, right click on photo. When the window pops up, left click on "properties". A window will appear, go up to the "Address (URL) line. Out beside it will be an address that looks something like this: http://www.handgunhunt.com/photopost/data/500/image72.jpeg

Hold down your right mouse button and highlight the complete address. Once the complete address is highlighted, right click on the address and seclect "copy" from the menu.

Now go to the topic you want to post the pic. Find the little button that has the "image icon" (should be the fourth from the left) click on the button and a box will appear. Left click in the box on the highlighted portion and select "paste". This will paste the address of the pic you copied. Click on "ok". Now your pic is posted in the topic.

I've found it to be easiest with two separate tabs open in windows explorer; one with the topic post open and the other with the bragging board open.

Hope this helps.

Redhawk, are you hitting the "quick reply" button or the "reply"?
The "quick reply" will not give you the option to enter an image.

You have to click on "reply" button or the "New Reply" at top left of page.

Reflex264 - would you mind sharing info on your shooting rig? Who made your holster and what type revolver/scope do you have. Thanks.

Very curious about the performance of your RIA 10mm. I've been bitten by the 10mm bug and it's between the Glock 20 and this.

FrankT, that G40 is one gun I will have some day! Very nice!! I am just now making the switch from carrying a 1911 in .45ACP, to a Glock 29 and the 10mm. That 10mm is an awesome round! It reminded me of the 45 Colt. It can be loaded pretty mild, or pretty heavy! I like that!!

I'll be getting a 6" barrel to drop in place, and will carry it at our property when bears are a possibility. Otherwise, for everyday CC, I'll have the G29 loaded with the same 40's that my wife carries in her G23 (Federal Hydrashocks), or else I'll throw some mild 10mm rounds in it. I like being able to shoot the 40 and the 10mm out of the same barrel! We can load up on one kind of ammo, and my wife and I can both shoot it! Then I can always have a few of the heavy 10mm loads on hand should I decide I need to carry those for whatever reason.

Very versatile chambering, and I wish I would have started carrying it sooner.
