Just woke up and am waiting for my ride to the airport. I have a1030 flight to Texas where I'll be hunting 1000ish acres a childhood friend has access to that has not been hunted yet this year. I have never been to Texas so,"I am exited," is an understatement. I have my 460sw packed and two long rifles. Hopefully I'll be attaching some deer pice to this topic by next week.

The hunt was hard. The property was beautiful but it wasn't set up for hunting bc its never hunted. Had a lot of old stands and one working feeder but was the wrong wind. We spent two days moving stands and putting out bait. After doing a little work we got some good sits in. My buddy shot a nice 8 and hit another that we could not find. I shot a big 8 on the last morning. It's the big 8 in the trail cam photo's. My buddies 5 year old son sat with me on the night I shot the buck. Sitting with him on his first hunt and watching his reactions when deer came out and after shooting was even better then shooting the deer. All in all it was a great trip. Fun times with old friends. Next year we are going to visit the property in the summer and set it up for deer season. Cant wait to see what comes out in 2017.
