What kind of accuracy are those who use the 4570 bfr getting? I was looking into the 3030 but I like the 4570 ballistics better. I want another 150ish yard revolver. How does the recoil compair to the 460 SW?

I had a 30-30 it was accurate but just not powerful enough in my opinion. So I had it converted by BFR to 444 and today shot a 5 shot group just slightly over 2.90" at 75 yards with a 4 power scope and cast 270 Grain LFN GC cast bullets. I have lower cost Swift premium scope on it and it performed outstanding as does the gun. Velocities up over 1675 FPS with that 270 grain bullet. This gun will out shoot my abilities.

I purchased a BFR 45-70 around 6 months ago and it is a very nice caliber.

Accuracy wise, it is a shooter. I use the 400 grain Speer with IMR 3031 and it shoots lights out. Recoil is stout with the 400's, but it doesn't have the twist and thump of a 454 ( I don't have a 460 so I can only compare to the 454).

With the 300 grain stuff moving around 1600, it's a big baby. I could shoot it all day. I shot a lot of 405 grain cast through mine around 900 fps and it really shines there as well with little recoil.

I love the caliber, I went with the 10.5" barrel for mine. A very heavy and cumbersome gun, but I can shoot it well.

I like those comments And I am very attracted to the versatility in bullet weight in that round. I saw some 300 ish grains that hit some very high velocities with some great energy and then there are some 400 grainers that sends some weight down range.

Also, how's the craftsmanship on those and the customer service with magnum research? Anyone have any issues?

I have one with a 10"bbl and a 2X Leupold scope. It shoots wonderfully. I'm shooting 325grn Leverevolutions at the moment. Recoil is easy and accuracy is excellent. The craftsmanship is outstanding, but I've not had any experience with customer service.

Not sure how long they have had them, but yesterday their facebook page showed a bisley grip version of the BFR.

I can?t speak for the 45-70 version but can offer input on the BFR 454 Casull 7.5?. I purchased mine last February after weeks of on-line research. Like many have commented on the web and in print its built like a tank and I find it very mechanically smooth and well balanced. My only dealings with customer service was my inquiry on their custom shop offerings and how to go about placing an order, they responded in under 24 hours. I also ordered a fiber optic front sight kit via their on-line store and had the kit in like 3 days US Mail. I love mine and am looking to add another in 475 Linebaugh.

Quality is outstanding and the fit and finish are what you may find in a more expensive custom gun. In fact I have two custom revolvers that are as c,ean or put together as well as the BFR.

I have one in .45/70 with a 7 1/2-inch barrel and I love it. It is exceedingly accurate. I've shot everything from 300 grain TSX loads up to Garrett 540 grain BFR -only loads and it is laser accurate. Great revolver.



This is a 50 yard 5-shot group with 300 grain TSX Double Tap loads if memory serves me well.

In factory loadings of similar bullet/boolit weights, how would the recoil compare from 45-70 to 475L? BFR touts the 45-70 as having less recoil than some standard 44mag.

The 325grn leverevolutions in the 10" BFR and scope have noticeably less recoil than my 7 1/2 Super Blackhawk 44mag with any serious loads.

I have one in 454, their customer service was fine for anything I needed after the initial sale of the gun.

Light bullet loads don't rock it much, but when you get into the heavies like Buffalo Bore's +P loads and Garrett's 540 grain BFR only loads, it has sizable recoil and there is no escaping it. Power comes with consequences.
