I got my second deer with a handgun today. The first was a week before Thanksgiving with my inline handgun muzzleloader. This morning I was sitting in my blind watching a bobcat that had snuck up behind me. I could never get a shot on him and watched as he walked over the hill. When I turned back around I saw a doe standing about 110 yards down a logging road. I got her in the scope and squeezed the trigger, I could tell she was hit as she ran. I waited about 30 mins before I walked down to check where she had been standing. I found hair and blood. I tracked her and found her about 70 yards away. I'm excited that I was blessed to be able to take a deer with both hand guns this year. I was blessed with three deer this year and I didn't take any with a long gun. One bow and two with handgun.

Thanks JamesfromJersey! I posted it on the bragging board but couldn't figure out how to put it in this post.

High Tide I used the Hornady 200gr FXT. I bought like 200 rounds when I bought the gun to practice with and hunt with but I've already bought the Hornady 240gr xtp mag to reload with. My plan was to practice with the factory loads and just hunt with them this year then test some different loads this spring and summer with the xtp's and hunt with them next year.

Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I shot this one with factory Hornady 200gr FXT but this off season I'm going to reload some 240gr XTP mag.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

The 200gr FXT is all I shoot in my .460....it will drop a large animal very efficiently and is much gentler on my aging wrists.
