All of my 2016/2017 hunts have ended as of yesterday. I've already begun to wash and put away the garments I've worn over the last 3 months. It's kinda sad when big game hunting ends for the year.

There are plenty of coyotes to pursue and the planning and preparation for the next season begins now, too. The loading bench has been neglected as well.

Maybe a hog hunt is in the cards before springtime.

I know how you feel. I did my last hunt in mid December. Now I have to sweet talk my boat a apologize for leaving her trailered for the last 4 months. I guess my wife could use a little attention too.

Feb.--begin supplemental feeding
March--move/repair/install stands
April--bush hog food plots
May--plant summer plots
June--pray for rain
July--begin glassing

That schedule should get me thru the weekends until the deer expos!

I've still got about 2 months of deer season (with management tags) left and then it's back after hogs for spring and summer eradication.

Lucky for you Zee. My season is over and will not start again until next September.

My deer season ends Sunday, and the antlerless only season ends next Friday. After that, I'll be hunting squirrels until the end of February.

Y'all are pretty lucky. We get 9 days in November and that's it for the year for firearms deer.

Rod, too.

We had 9 days as well for most of my life. In recent years we've had around 30 days of firearms deer season hunting opportunity, and our deer numbers certainly show it. I believe I hunted 15-20 days this year and only saw 5 deer total.

Archery season is Sept 15 - Jan 15. It's a wonder our deer ever get rest.

Here in North Carolina our bow season opens the Saturday after Labor day and our muzzle loading season opens about three Saturday before Thanksgiving with gun season opening the Saturday before Thanksgiving and ending on Jan 1.

So if you hunt all season like I do you have over 3 1/2 months of deer season to hunt.

This year I went into the woods 39 times. I saw 37 deer, eight of witch were legal bucks. I killed two does with my crossbow and one eight point with my muzzle loading pistol. I left three tags unfilled because I was to busy trophy hunting to shoot another doe and did not want to kill a small buck.

My son and I had twelve trophy bucks on camera on three different properties we hunt and he killed two of them, a 4 1/2 year old 14 point whose weight was 200 pounds and a 3 1/2 year old eight point that scored 125. For the first time in over twenty years I did not pull the trigger during our rifle season but over all we had a great season.

I plan to use my 30 30 contender as my primary weapon during our next rifle season and am looking forward to getting it ready.

Problem is here you only get to take one deer per year regardless of season so if I were to kill one with a bow, there goes my handgun hunt.

Sounds like you need to move to my neck of the woods, Rod.

Being as it hasn't been above zero here in three days that is very tempting right about now, Chance
