Has anyone had the chance to handle/shoot or buy one. If so what is your overall opinion. I tried to get one but my dealer was unable to get it. Alaska for you.....

Currently working on an article with the GP 100 .44 Special. So far I'm pleased with this five-shot revolver. The gun points and balances well -- a pleasure to shoot Black Hills cowboy action stuff. Even with stiffer loads it behaves well. Also working on the new 8-shot .357 Mag. Redhawk.
Headed to SHOT today. Will probably see more new stuff that I can't afford.
Cheers

I like the idea, but would prefer a longer barrel.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I believe longer barrels will be forthcoming. I like the idea of a 5-incher.

I had a chance to handle one this past week, and really liked it. I think a 5 or 5 1/2 inch barrel would be a little better for my use though. After getting my first 44 Spcl some years ago, I see why it is liked so well. I hope it sells well for Ruger.

I agree with the longer barrel. At least a four inch option would be nice. 5" even nicer. Seeing you are going to the SHOT show Mark maybe you can put the "bug" in Ruger's ear ???????
Happy shooting and hunting to all.

Don't understand the stubby barrel, but a 5" would be sweet.

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I only shot one a couple times when a custom got one. Shot well. Nice packing gun.
Can't wait to trim a few more ounces off one.

I've had one since the summer and I really like it. It's a natural platform for the round IMHO. So far so good.

Folks,
Measured the chamber throats on mine,0.433". Seems generous, as I size to fit the throats and never needed to go more than 0.431". Anyone else have this issue? Accuracy problems? Called Ruger tech, said his measured 0.433" also.
