The flip side of the most hated....Have at it everyone. Tell what they are and why.

All my handguns of course but I do have a special place for my Number 1 in 45-70. Killed my first bear with it and the rifle feels like it was made just for me.

This:

My 15" barreled 300 Winchester Magnum Encore pistol. With plenty of power to tackle anything I might conceivably hunt, and with enough accuracy and retained energy to bring down deer no matter how far the shot I'm likely to take, it's my primary hunting handgun. I may go afield with a revolver on my belt or an Optima pistol across my chest, but when I absolutely, positively want or need to put a deer on the ground regardless of the range, this is the gun I fall back on. Huge? Heavy? Unwieldy? Yes, but it strikes down deer like an act of God. Hence its nickname: Thaumiel.

On another note, I have another contender for my favorite, but for different reasons:

Same gun as above, but with a 12" 221 Fireball barrel. Unlike my other handguns, all of which I hope to harvest something with someday, I'm fine if this one never tastes blood. That's because this one is designed purely as a target/practice build. It uses less than a quarter the amount of powder compared to the 300, while firing bullets that cost less than a third of what the 300 uses. It barely kicks, and although it's still a bit loud, it's not as bad as my ported micro-artillery pieces.

I think I just coveted Charlie's No. 1. I don't see myself buys many more long guns, but that would be one of them if the opportunity presented.
I think my contender with the 17hmr is my favorite, followed closely by my Remington 700 in 223, a model 62 pump 22, and my ruger 10-22. Oh, and of course the next one I buy of course

Ok figured that out, after about 2hours! Antonio Zoli 12ga/7x57

[image][/image]

7x7 and a couple of green heads, that was a GOOD morning!

[image][/image]

Add a Brenneke Slug and it makes a dandy double rife at under 25 feet... good story on this one.

This gun is my favorite because of its extreme versatility, Ill post the turkeys and grouse taken with it at some point. Also, its beautiful, nice engraving, I am an artist, it resonates. It is amazingly accurate, MOA if you let the barrel cool between two shot groups and the shotgun will put a Bernanke 1oz in the same 4inch group with the rifle at 100yds.

Oh yes, her name is Precious, after Lori found out what I paid for her!

This guy was pretty small, but I called him in to 20 feet and then I was pretty well committed, the 44mag did a nice job. Getting really up close is the best with a handgun, the real thrill of it. I am so damn excited to be going spring bear hunting this year, well I'm also pretty thrilled to have survived cancer not to understate anything. I am discovering a am not a very good record keeper as far a photos are concerned, no 454 with dead does, just didn't, oh well. Some stuff with no gun in it, did I shoot that with what? Have not so hot photo of the bull moose with the 44mag but need to scan it, just a print.

Lots of great eating meat, courtesy the most Boring Gun in the World, Ill have to get a pic of it. Anyway Lori and I obviously like to eat deer, well so do a lot of our friends. This was excessive as far a cutting up. No snow but really cold everything was perfect took several days.

This was the kill that absolutely removed any doubt that I could take any animal will a good, accurate, big bore hand gun and proper bullet and shot placement. I was not the greatest with this weapon at 50yds plus so it did concern me and I admit to not going for it with my goat tag. The 454 have put those doubts to rest and on next years sheep hunt. One and only one gun goes along, the 454.

As much as I love my Ruger DA revolvers, my Ruger #1 Anniversary is one of my favorites.

It is very accurate, besides being purdy

The TC Encore is hard to beat, with 20 slug barrel, 50 cal muzzleloader, 12" 223, and of course in 44 with a 12" barrel.

And of course all things 10/22

An old favorite that no longer belongs to me, but to a friend now. Sadly he doesn't hunt, but when I had it, a number of animals fell. It was a custom (by Huntington) Super Redhawk in .500 Linebaugh. Accurate bugger!

Max, That 500 SRH inspired me to have this 480 done.

But I really wanted it in 44 as I have many in that Caliber. So I sold my 480 to buy this one in 44.

So far I have only had it out twice. With some factory 240 grain soft points and my reloads with 240 grain XTP's it is very accurate. I have some 300 grain bullets to load up and try when I get home. The 44 was done by Mag-Na-Port and I bought it already done and added the UltraDot. I sent the 480 to Bayside Custom Gunworks (Hoggin) to have done.

I was really hoping to get a deer with my 480 before selling it, but the deer had other plans. I had a very accurate load with Speer Deep Curl 275 grain bullets. The 2 lower loads above with the 480 were 410 grain cast, one from Buffalo Bore and one reload. The top was Hornady factory 325 grainers.

Would of liked to keep both, but my lotto numbers didn't get drawn.

I am glad this said guns. No way to pic a favorite. That said I have favorites.

Rifle
for big game. My .450 custom marlin. This is the gun that inspired Marlin to bring out the SBL and GBL. It was the first Marlin .450 that was used to do pressure data for heavy bullets in the .450. It has stopped bear charges, killed the first water buff killed with a .450 and is weather proof to boot.

Handgun
.45 Blackhawk. This gun has taken more critters than I can count. I have a lot of nice handguns but this is a go to. I trust it. Shoots 1.5" at 100 yards.

Shot gun
28 gauge super lightweight express
5lbs loaded. I have taken limits of doves, turkey, ducks and plan on using it on pheasant. Very rare. They only built this one on the .410 frame for 2 years and then it was only a few.
Here it is with a limit of Woodies.

I wish I had a way to post a photo, but I don't have my own website. I have a sweet Dan Wesson .357 mag. with a 12" barrel, scoped. It has no problem shooting a 2" group at 200 yards.
