I know one member here that has used them extensively. trademark, where are you? I've used them on exactly one animal, but it was factory loaded ammo. Oh, and it worked well.

Yes that would be great for some feedback from an experience user of the Barnes bullets,I've only used 200gr Xpb in a 450 bushmaster with great results. I'm hoping to work up a good Ohio deer load with the Barnes for the upcoming deer season.

I have used several Barnes rifle bullets, but have little experience with pistol bullets. Extremely happy with all my experiences except paying for them. Use them within the velocity ranges they were designed for and they don't disappoint.

Well i use em up to well watusi sized animals and those werent max. While they dont penetrate the deepest nothing does more damage but they penetrate good enough for 1200lbs amd i wouldnt hesitate on moose.
I run em maxed and depending on gun up to 29gr of h110. A good start is 27.5 gr and then on up from there. Depends on the gun.

This is slightly off topic but, I seen a test where they compared a 250 Barnes bullet from 454 cASULL TO A 12 GAUGE LEAD SLUG. [Assuming a 1 oz. slug. I am trying to recall] The wound cavity in ballistic gel was almost exactly the same. Mighty impressive!

Thought I?d share my preliminary results from my 454 7.5? BFR with the Barnes 250 grain XPB. With all of the positive posts I have been reading, I decided to give them a try. Starline brass Primer CCI-400 Pact chronograph at 10 feet front of the muzzle A#7 Grains 19.8 FPS 1589 A#9 Grains 25.5 FPS 1730 Grains 26.2 FPS 1749 Grains 28.0 FPS 1871 VV N110 Grains 23.0 FPS 1556
As with all reloading start low and work up, what works in mine may not work in yours.

I got out yesterday's to shoot the Barnes didn't have time to cronograph the load, accuracy was one hole at 25 yds 50 yds a little over an inch 100 yd just under 2 inches.I will cronograph them when I get out again 28gr H-110 is a very manageable load as far as recoil goes.
