The May issue of GUNS Magazine is just out. Starting on page 24, I have an article on the MOA Long Range Pistol Match. You may recognize some nefarious characters. Just sharing.............

Congrads on 2nd in a couple of categorys. Us older guys have to keep the fire burning for the young 'uns to show it can still be done.

Good read. Looks like it was a blast. Pun intended. What would you compare the recoil of a 260 to, say a 44 mag or???

ruger4570, All of my 260s wear muzzle brakes so recoil is almost a non-issue. I don't have muzzle brakes on my .44s so they behave differently -- with more muzzle rise comparatively speaking.

Kyode, I guess optic performance is a bit subjective -- but I've always liked Leupold scopes. At this match there are a few Nightforce scopes but mainly Leupold, Vortex, Burris, and Sightron. I've got a Swarokski Z 5 (sheep hunter) 3.5 - 18x coming and anxious to give it a whirl. Also, just mounted a Meopta 6.5 - 20X on an Encore 260 Rem. and can't wait to take it to the range. These scopes offer higher magnification than I normally use for hunting. But shooting out to 1000 yards -- the added magnification is beneficial. Today I also mounted a Leupold VX 2, 6 - 18X on an H-S Precision 260 Rem. Overall, I have no complaints with Leupold although there are some higher priced units commonly used.

Thanks for the reply. Been giving thought to a 260 Rem barrel for my Encore. I hadn't considered a muzzle brake, so have to give it a little more thought now.
