I just bought my first box of these for a 44 magnum. After oohing and aahhhing over the expensive packaging, I drooled over my loading manuals and wrote down just a few combinations I could not wait to load up and try.

Then I realized I would use up all 50 bullets to find a good load and still wouldn't have gotten around to zeroing that load. Then I thought about how much I had spent to buy them and have them shipped. I don't worry about $ spent for hunting, but I have a history of spending more than I like just experimenting with loads. I thought maybe someone here might have a suggestion or two.

I am mostly interested in accuracy as I am only hunting whitetail and hogs at close range so I don't think I need maximum velocity. I know what is best in your handgun may not be good in my 629, but anyone have a load they can suggest?

I would like to use H110 or 2400.

If you use H110, you will more than likely find it prefers maximum or near maximum loads.

Trust me....I`ve been in your situation with A-frames in 357-41-
44- and 50 caliber and was fortunate to be shooting Freedom arms handguns in each case so finding an accurate load for each caliber was fairly quick... With your load of choice, I would shoot 3 rounds at 25yds for group and if not within an inch I would move to another....Good luck and hope you find that accurate load without using to many A-frames

H110

Well you won't have too much play room with H110 as the min is 18.5 and the max 20.5. I'd load 3 of each 19.5, 20, and 20.5 and see how they do. Hope that Smith is up to the task ;-)

Rod, too.

Thanks guys. I went with 19.7, 20.0 and 20.3 , 3 rounds each of H110. Hope I get lucky and don't need to try more.

It will be hard to beat H110 in your .44 Spinsail. as far as accuracy goes. 2400 would be my second choice if you want accuracy and a load a bit tamer than H110. I would go with a mid range H110 load with the Swifts and focus on your front sight with complete confidence. You won't be disappointed.
