Has anyone used this bullet in 45 cal (250 grain) on game and if so how did it perform? Application would be 45 Colt @ 1,200 fps + or -.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I use the 270 gr. in the 44 and it's a very accurate bullet out of my guns. I have taken deer, hogs and red deer (5-600lbs) with it. I've also used the 325 gr. in the 475 to take bear, elk, oryx, hogs and deer. It is a bonded bullet as you probably know but also fairly heavy so if you don't hit a bone it's not going to expand much based on what I see from wounds but they are hard to recover so it's sort of difficult to tell just how much they are expanding.

The greatest challenge is finding some - I've been looking for years. The only ones I've been able to fine, and that's been several years ago, was the 325 gr for the 475.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Ditto on hard to find, at least the 270 grain 44 bullets. They were very accurate in my 44 Ruger lever action and my Redhawk. Shooting into water jugs and wet newspapers showed picture perfect expansion.

Well a supply has recently hit the shelves if you were on your game. It has been at least 4 years since I've seen any but in the last couple of weeks my hunting buddies and I have bought over 5K of the 270gr. 44s. If it's another 4 years till they make another run I'll at least have some to shoot in the meantime. They are still in stock at Midway. Gold Dot 44 270gr.

Thanks for the intel, Gary. Obviously I wasn't on my game lately - I just don't have the time now days. Maybe I'll get to test them on some whitetail this year.

I've taken 4 deer with the 325 and 4 deer with the 400 Gold Dot (Deep Curl predecessor) in .475 Linebaugh and every one of them ran a ways on good shoulder hits and all looked like they'd been shot with solids. XTPs weren't much different in .475. I hope you have better luck with the .44s.
