Has anyone ever seen a FA revolver with a "fluted" or "scalloped" cylinder? I may not be using the correct term but what I mean is a 'traditional" type cylinder. All answers appreciated and pictures really appreciated. Thanks.

Yes. It is an option if ordered new, or a cylinder can be fluted if one buys a used gun, by simply returning the cylinder to the factory. I had the cylinders fluted on a 353 (mdl. 83 .357) and Mdl. 83 .41 Mag. Sorry, I can't show any pictures, because I sold the guns a couple years ago, but it looks about like any other fluted cylinder. The cost was about $80 each, when I had mine done about 7-8 years ago.

Thanks for the reply. A guy I know has a model 97 in 45LC with a fluted cylinder. He claims it is the only one FA has ever done. I was a little skeptical but he may have meant the ONLY 97 they've done. I sure wish you had pics before I show him this.

They have done many.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Look at Gunbroker item #660699333

This is just ONE example of many. As 500WE said it is an option that can be ordered on any FA gun.

Look on FA website. Flutes added to 97/83 cylinder $117.00
