Yes, the lack of 4's is intentional..... but I'm not completely resistant. I've already got the .45 ACP/super, .45 Colt, .454 and .460 S&W in different guns so that's why I'm not really looking at the 4's.

45-100 looks interesting too. 2.6" long brass available from Starline at ~$1/piece and smokeless data published by Lyman.

Good luck with your decision. Sure is fun to help other people spend their money. Thanks for letting us participate.

found the .375 Win

Ya, but good luck finding brass......

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

There's the 375-06 JDJ to consider as well if you don't mind a wildcat. More case capacity than the 375-284 Win.

Yes, Reeder has some interesting calibers. And 445 Supermag has been mentioned, too, which is on my own list for a future barrel. Hope you find your choice soon!

WHAT ABOUT THE 376 STEYR? I HAVE A RPM XL THAT WORKS GREAT WITH THE FACTORY 225's. BOUGHT A CUSTOM 376 BARREL FOR THE ENCORE TO BE ABLE TO USE THE HOTTER FACTORY 270's BUT I DO NOT TOLERATE ENCORE RECOIL WELL AND MAY SELL IT.

"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

45 MAN,
That's one I guess I've just overlooked from lack of knowledge. It definitely ranks very high on the "cool scale". Do you reload for it, and if so, can you load it down to say, .375 Win velocities?

I had a Competitor in 376 Steyr and took a bunch of game. I reloaded for it and loved the 300 gr Norma Oryx bullet
