The Blackhawk Hunter should come with a good set of 1-inch rings. That said, the Ruger units are very good.

LONGHUNTER: CHECK OUT THE "WRINGING OUT THE SUPER REDHAWK 44 MAG" THREAD ON THE SHOOTER'S BENCH FORUM, SOME GOOD INFO IN THERE ON RINGS FOR THE SRH's AND BLACKHAWK HUNTER MODELS.

My Hunter came with medium height rings which required the rear sight be bottomed out for the scope I had to work. I traded with Ruger for x-high rings so I could keep my iron zero. I think high rings would be tall enough but I wanted some room for error.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

On my SBH Bisley Hunter I had to switch from the stock #4 medium rings to the #5 High rings for a Burris 2-7 x 32 scope to clear the rear sight.

The stock #4's work just fine for a Leupold 2x
