Plan to reload .44mag and .357mag using 240gr XTP's and 158gr XTP's, what powder would you recommend that would work for both. Looking for something clean burning.

I'm running H110 in both cartridges wth both of those bullets and good results.
I've taken deer with both.

I would go 2400 with mag primers on both. You can load them down or at max with no position sensitively.
I am a huge 2400 fan you can even load it under the 158 in the 38 spl too.
If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

Well I'll add another. I've had really good luck with 4227 in .44 mag loads. Super consistent when it comes to accuracy.

I lean more towards 2400 with these two bullets. H110 would be my second choice.
Randy that is interesting about the 4227

For hi test loads I like H110 and for midrange power HS-6 gets the nod.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I like H-110 for both. In the 44 I load 23.5 grains and my 5" Super Redhawk will shoot 5 shots under 2"

H110 for the heavy hunting loads, Universal for the lighter loads in the .357 Maggie. Some times Blue Dot......

2400 or 296/h110 for top loads in .44 and .357. 2400 for lighter loads in both and also the 38 load mentioned above.

I would try H110/WW296, 300MP, and LilGun. I would think any of them would do fine. I have not worked with 2400 in several years. To me 2400 never gets in the Fast Lane. It is outperformed by other powders. I really like 300MP in magnum loads. However I have around 12 or so pounds of H110 left that I need to use up before I commit to another powder.

I have become very fond of Accurate Arms #9 lately. Been using in the 44 mag, 357 mag, 41 mag, and 45 Colt. Meters very well and seems to be less temperature sensitive than H110/W296.

my self I like 2400. you can load light to top tier loads with out it being finicky and no need for magnum primers. I ran my 240 grain xtp over 20 grains of 2400 through my chronograph out of my 9.5 barreled super redhawk and I got consistent 1300 + fps readings. but having said that I do want to try some 300mp though...
