I saw 52 degrees, wind and 60% chance of rain for our CNY firearm opener. Now Sunday.....Lake Effect. Bring it on!!!
What are you NY'ers taking in the woods for opening day??
I haven't decided whether to bring my T/C Encore in 7mm-08 or my SBH with Leupold 2X on it.
Rob, I"m bringing my new Freedom, and a single shot, not sure Encore or Contender for a long shot. Awesome, Good Luck!!! I'll be watching this forum for an update

I'll spot you New York boys a couple of days, gotta take momma to Lehigh University in PA to spend the weekend with our daughter and son in law and 6 month old grandson. -Are you kidding?- you gotta do what you gotta do?- hopefully that buys me a reprieve for the remainder of the season.I'lll be carrying an encore 7-08 and backing it up with a redhawk in 44mag. Yep, sometimes that thing called life gets in the way. At least it's something worthy, family. Not like you have to be at work or anything like that. Good luck and I will be watching this thread for an update when you get back.

Our gun season opened today. I shot this button buck at 6:45 this morning. SRH 44 with 240 XTP and H-110 powder. Shot was slight quartering to and down hill. Broke left shoulder, clipped the heart and exited low right side. Did a 4o yard death run and collapsed. Still have 2 more tags.

Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Thats a really nice buck. I have a GP100 that I have killed one deer with at 28 yards. I love shooting mine.

This is a great thread. I brought it back to life because it deserves to run over 30 pages. No arguing, just results and positivity.
