Buffalo Bore's .44 Magnum Deer Grenade load. Any thoughts or opinions one way or the other regarding this round??

I'll pass. If pushed fast it frags, and I'm not fond of the idea of having little lead particles spread throughout my food. Penetration would likely be questionable. I feel there are much better options available.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I experienced them exploding out of my 44 mag. Way to soft. Loaded to hot. I also found that the consistency was all over the place. I avoid BB now at all costs. I've not had luck with any of there stuff I've tried and found the workmanship to be quite poor.

I've tried it in 4 calibers now with all the same problems.

I use Underwood or DT and find they are much better all the way around for "custom" factory loads.

I no longer own a 44 mag.

I have a box of their .44 magnum "Reduced Recoil" which is a
bit of a misnomer, in my opinion anyway. I wonder if I just should not shoot them at all. Why take the risk as I've heard their load may be a bit hotter than necessary.

That 44 load has worked well for me. The concept of the deer grenade seems odd. Just shoot a fragile sub 240hr xtp at a modest velocity and it will work like a champ on deer.

I have never used this bullet but if you reload you can get them from Rim Rock Bullets. They supply them to Buffalo Bore.
