After reading wvhitman's post about the 165 Sierra I was going to try them last year but there were none to be found.I have some on the way just in time to hunt with the 24. The 180XTP worked fine but anxious to see how the 165 Sierra performs.

I've been getting .40 165 gr. Sierra JHC lately from Graf and Sons. Don't buy them all. I'm still using them. They were the only .40 bullet I got reliable one shot kills (most of the time) on deer.

Now all aftermarket. still breaking in the frame. It's settling down. I can stick it on the 22 frame and drive tacks. There is virtually no slop on this frame. Cant wait to hunt with it.

I'll check my sierra manual when I get home. I am loading these in a .40 with 7.8 grs Longshot.

Nice setup! I've experimented with a lot of warmer .40 loads from a 6" KKM G24 .40 S&W. I've had 165 Sierras and thought I had more load data for them, but most of it is with Gold Dots, which probably won't help much as I'm pretty sure the Sierra 165 is longer than the 165 Gold Dot.
165gr Gold Dot, 10.7gr VV3N38 @ 1.150" : 1392 fps avg 7 fps ES 165gr Gold Dot, 9.0gr 800x @ 1.150": 1365 fps avg 14 fps ES 165gr Gold Dot, 9.0gr Longshot @ 1.130": 1,412 fps avg 23 fps ES 165gr Gold Dot, 9.5gr Longshot @ 1.130" 1,485 fps avg (46 fps ES)(808 ft-lbs)
I did find a 165gr Sierra from a stock Glock 35: 165gr Sierra JHP, 8.0gr Power Pistol @ 1.125": 1,216 fps avg 34 fps ES
