I am getting things lined up to have MGM build a couple barrels for my G2 Contender, and I am trying to locate the best fit fiber optic front sight for a full bull barrel.

I see that HiViz has different height sights for the BFR revolvers. This may be what I need if the barrel diameters are the same, or close enough.

Could someone measure their BFR barrel diameter and the same for a contender barrel.

I read somewhere that the Contender bull barrels are .804" in diameter, but I would like to make sure, before I order the sights.

Also, if anyone has installed fiber optic front sight on a contender barrel, please let me know what you used. Pictures would be great too.

Thanks.

I don't have a solution, but I'm looking for something similar for my 45/410 barrel.

karl,

Here is the sight info I got from T/C. Someone mentioned in another post of mine regarding Contender sights, that if we are using Ruger loads for the 45 Colt, then we may want to use the taller front sight.

22lr 9" barrel: Low rear sight, .490 front sight.

45acp 9" barrel: Low rear sight, .430 front sight

45lc 9" barrel: Low rear sight, .430 front sight

The Low rear sight part number is 65402292 and costs $21

.490 front sight is 00052006 and is $21

.430 front sight is 00052008 and is $36

Rear sight screw is part number 55011111 and 50 cents a piece.

Front sight uses two different screws, part number 55160416 and 55162010 and are 50 cents a piece also.

This is for the current sights for the G2 also, since these are custom barrels I just wanted to make that clear just in case.
