I'm trying to construct a shooting table/bench with integral seat. A standard seat/chair height is 18 inches. My problem is deciding on a table height to accommodate handguns and rifle shooters. I'm making it out of metal and only want to do it one time. Any and all input is appreciated!

Thanks!

If you're building it for yourself I would get a chair, sit at a table and start stacking things to get your handgun to the height you're comfortable with. I have always found that it is best to make it a little lower to adjust for shooting down hill or at closer targets. The type of rest you use will determine how much adjustment you will have.

Make it adjustable if you intend to have more then one person use it. Two pieces of telescoping pipe, a series of holes, a pin and you are most the way there.
Height, torso length, shooting style and age all factor in.

I bring a 5 gallon buck to the range all the time to sit on/carry stuff in as their stools are all to high for me and I have to crouch over so much that my back soon begins to hurt and shooting goes to hell.
