Starting with out of the box new scope, don't have bore sight.
Scope adjustment click equal 1/4 moa, shoot 3 rounds at 25 yard target. Group is 3" low and 2" right. Sub 100 yard adjustments give me trouble, what click adjustments do you make? Yes 3" up and 2" right, question is how many clicks up and how many clicks left?
Thanks in advance,
Charlie

It should take 4 times as many clicks at 25 yards as it does at 100 yards.

I'd leave it at 3" low until I shot it at a longer distance due to the height of the scope off of the axis of the bore. It should be a couple inches low at 25. What distance is your intended zero?

Redhawk1954, that is what I was thinking, just wanted to get other confirmation. Starting at 25 just to make sure I'm on paper. Would adjust to get closer to desired zero yardage which would be 100 yards and then step out to verify.
Thanks for the info,
Charlie

I agree with Gary. The bullet is still rising at 25 due to scope height. I would come left to center and maybe up an inch or so then shoot your desired distance to fine tune.

Yes, meant left not right. Agree with what Gary said, I just picked 25 to make sure I was on paper. I've had a scope or two that was completely off paper at 75 or a 100 and being by myself could not tell whether it was up, down, left, right or both horizontal and vertical:-(
Thanks

Depending on scope height and chambering you may need to be anywhere from an inch low @ 25 to an inch high to get your desired zero. I like to run the numbers for my load through a ballistic calculator to find the midrange trajectory I need for my zero and adjust to that, but I often shoot my first shot(s) @ 25 yards or closer to get on paper.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.
